Yes it is big, very big. Designed again to accommodate huge cranes from the Cranes 4 Hire fleet. The 'moerse' paint and panel spray booth and fabrication shop is large enough to accommodate the largest of machines. Trucks, buses, cranes, mining machines etc. all can be accommodated in this workshop. Moevie van der Merwe is also in charge of this section and has excellent artisans working in the workshop. The panel beaters spray painters, fabricators and welders working here specialise in the larger end of the vehicle market. Movie says that they are not interested in the small vehicle market as there are enough people in town who specialise in that sector. Insurance claims on large vehicles can be accommodated which is good news as much of this work has been going out of the area to Johannesburg where there are shops of similar size and capability. Due to the high corrosive conditions on many of the industrial plants around this area, we recommend that machines and vehicles working in these conditions be stripped and re-sprayed every two years. This will stop any rust invasion and also deter structural faults before they become dangerous. Preventative maintenance saves cost and limits down time, which is the biggest cost to the industry.
