MOERSE WORKSHOP
The Moerse Workshop is what the name implies very, very large. The name was invented by the people who visited during the period of its establishment. Gavin Pollock, director of Cranes 4 Hire said the workshop has been developed over several years to accommodate Cranes 4 Hire's fleet of cranes. "We needed a workshop big enough to accommodate cranes up to 300 tons and specialised enough to maintain the cranes to the high standards required by government legislation as well as mining and industrial safety standards" said Gavin. Moevie van der Merwe, workshop manager, has been developing the workshop for several years now. Moevie has 35 years' experience in the mechanical field and is well known for winning many trophies for rebuilding and restoring vintage cars and hotrods. Most of his 35 years has been in the field of heavy equipment, which involved the repair, maintenance and complete rebuilds of trucks, plant and industrial equipment.
His wide knowledge of sourcing parts and fault finding is a scarce commodity in today's wide variety of mechanical and industrial equipment. Moevie says his workshop has been developed to provide a much-needed facility for fleet owners where they are provided with a first class facility with professional artisans, all work is guaranteed. At present the workshop has several fleet customers who have their vehicles serviced, repaired, pressure washed and valet to a high standard. A fleet maintenance plan is developed for each company to reduce down times in the field. A 24-hour field service is supplied to all regular customers. Moevie van der Merwe can be contacted at 013 696 1146 or on his cell: 082 828 9929. The workshop is open for inspection by appointment only.
